BFA Painting

When viewing and making art, questions about the work always come up. Why that scale, shape or color? How or why did I make that decision for the piece? Does the viewer have to know it was me who made the work? I do not always have the answers for these questions, nor do I always think it is necessary to have all of the answers. Having unanswered questions about how I work, why I work, and the work itself causes more to arise: which keeps me excited and curious about what is going on. My work is about the experience, the process of making, the meaning that each viewer assigns to the work, and the questions that emerge for myself and the viewer. The intention is to use painting as a way to create an environment that can seem everywhere and nowhere. A space that can take a viewer into a memory, a dream, or just out of their reality.
