Yvonne Peña
BFA Graphic Design; Minor in Spanish
My work originally focuses on my own experiences of judgement, but as they have further progressed, they can be interpreted by so many more who have also had similar experiences. Eyes, mouths, and other facial features are also prominent in my works. I tend to want to give the viewer a sense of uneasiness, as though they are being watched or talked about, and perhaps even scare them a little.
I feel as though I have yet to develop a distinct style for my artwork, specifically my digital pieces, but I am just having fun at the moment. I like experimenting with different design elements, colors, shapes, and anything else that comes to mind. My work flows in the same way that my mind does – sometimes in bits and pieces, other times all at once. I am trying to let myself have fun and be creative, instead up trying to live up to someone else’s standards.
