Mayra Sherman
BFA Graphic Design; Minor in Human Rights; Certificate of Illustration
Much of my work has to deal with my own cultural identity as an indigenous Bolivian, and social issues occurring worldwide through many mediums, like graphic design, drawing. I hope to use my skills to help others. I would want to work for organizations that focus on human rights on a local level or international. I am driven to make art that will get people to act or reflect on social issues.
My photographs have been published in four issues of Ampersand, a magazine published by Webster University students. I like to use watercolor and micron pens in many of my illustrations which are related to my background. I have an interest in photography and am currently working on portraiture and events, which includes attending protests.
