About the DADAH Senior Exhibition 2021
It is with great pride that Webster University, the Leigh Gerdine College of Fine Arts, and the Department of Art, Design, and Art History (DADAH) present the 2021 graduating BA and BFA in-person and virtual senior exhibition titled Take Out.
At the end of every Spring semester, we have a new, talented group of artists, graphic designers, and art historians that culminate their time at Webster with a final exhibition or presentation of their research thesis. It is a time to reflect on hard work, a time for celebration, and a moment to mark as our soon-to-be alumni step forward onto their next paths.
2021 marks the first DADAH graduating class that will have their work presented in a hybrid exhibition format with an online experience and in-person exhibition through the windows of the Webster Gateway campus in downtown St. Louis. Their show and work will also be the second to be included in an online DADAH archive of the department’s graduating seniors. The hybrid format of this exhibition initially responded to the global pandemic caused by COVID-19, a situation that has drastically altered what our department and students are used to, but has also brought out the resiliency, understanding, and flexibility of our students, faculty, and staff. Our goal has been to grow from this experience a worthy monument to our students’ commitment that marks this historic moment while pressing for new ways to celebrate their hard work and culminating experience as they graduate from Webster University.
We hope as you peruse this online exhibition and go see the work downtown in person, that you spend time with their writing and work and that you reach out to them with questions and to connect with one another.
