I pride myself on my roots, and where I called home all my life as a Saint Louis native. My childhood was willed purely by hose water and Spongebob, midwestern sun and heirloom tomatoes. Most of all, I was fueled by fantasy, fairies, dragons, and everything in between. I love the images that were created for me in the height of the 2000s, and seek to create a nostalgic, storybook experience I missed so much when it was gone. It became grossly apparent as I grew that hand-drawn animation was going out of the mainstream. When it did, I missed the overall whimsy that was only achievable with that style. Whimsy is the groundwork of why I create, making magic out of everyday turmoil. Life can be a pain, and helping add nuance with pop culture and silly cartoons are some of the core reasons I became an illustrator and image creator. As well as one of the reasons behind my piece.
