My name is Kira Svoboda, and I am a painter. My work explores the overwhelmingly strange but distinct feelings that take place within daily life. I am interested in how light, architecture, and common objects can be manipulated in order to narrow in on these specific, uncanny feelings. The basic foundation for my paintings is memory- not of a specific time and place, but rather the way that memories evolve, distort, and blend over time.
